Dear Parents/Carers,
There is only one week left until Christmas Day. Our season of Advent is now in its third week, and I am certain that there are many of you who feel that you need more than seven days in order to be ready for the upcoming festivities. I know I do! I pray that you enter this final week with the peace that Jesus can offer, and an awareness that even if some things do not seem quite ready, the real joy of Christmas can still enter the hearts of those you love. Lord Jesus, you tell me that you are the One promised by God. Help me to trust in you. Amen.
As this is the final Newsletter for the year, I would like to pass on my thanks to you, the parents and carers, for the support that you have shown the school and our staff during this year. Providing as high a quality education for the children as possible definitely needs to be done in partnership, and I believe that at Holy Family there are many excellent examples where this partnership has provided students with a high level of support.
Of course, this is my final Newsletter contribution at Holy Family. I take this opportunity to sincerely thank the many parents that I have had the privilege of knowing over the last six years. Holy Family is a school based on positive and life-giving relationships, and for me this has been evident in the way in which parents have trusted and supported the work of our staff. I also want to pass on my thanks to the dedicated and committed staff at Holy Family who give more than is expected to ensure the children are genuinely cared for and expertly taught. Finally, and most importantly, I thank the students who bring such joy to my work and who help to create a friendly and supportive environment of which all other children can be a part. I know that Mrs Rolfe will enjoy being a part of the Holy Family Community.
I wish you and your family a peace filled Christmas, a safe start to the new year and a rewarding 2020.

With the devastating bushfires across Australia that have caused so much destruction to wildlife and the environment, here’s a good news story from our School. A huge thank you to the students and parents who supported this campaign. Thank you also to Mrs Coffey and Mrs Jones for their tremendous effort in co-ordinating this worthwhile event.

Relics of Saint Therese of Lisieux and Parents
The Relics of much loved Carmelite Saint, Saint Therese of Lisieux plus her parents, Saints Louis and Zelie Martin, are coming to Australia for a national tour in 2020. They are coming to Varroville for a visit from 22 January until 1 February, 2020 when the official tour begins.
The relics will be in the parish church at Our Lady of Mt Carmel, from Saturday 25 January until Tuesday 28 January, for public veneration and all are most warmly invited to attend. The attached poster shows the dates and time for Mass.
Here is a photograph of the bell ringers, including members of the Day family, who welcomed the school community to our Christmas Concert last week. Well done!
