In John’s ancient yet contemporary parable, Jesus tells us He is both the ‘door’ (or gate) for the sheep and is the Good Shepherd. When He describes the ‘door’, He tells us that He is the gateway to the Kingdom of God. As the Good Shepherd, Jesus exists to save the sheep and lead them to a full life.
The story of the Good Shepherd is a key Gospel story to remind us of the person of Jesus. This Gospel helps us encounter the love of God and the joy of building a relationship with Jesus, the Good Shepherd who loves all people and has come so that we may have life, and have it to the full.
Welcome Back!
Welcome back to Term 2! The children have all come back ready to learn and as I have been in and out of classrooms I can see that they are all engaging in their learning and already making learning gains! We look forward to a wonderful term ahead.
A reminder that full winter school uniform is to be worn from Monday of Week 4. During this transition time, students are allowed to wear either summer or winter uniforms, but not a combination of both uniforms. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
Term 2 looks to be another busy term with some grades attending excursions, First Holy Communion, Years 1 - 6 Academic Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews for all grades towards the end of June.
ANZAC Day Dawn Service
I had the pleasure of attending the Ingleburn RSL Dawn Service along with Chloe and Ethan, our school captains. Chloe and Ethan represented us very well and laid a wreath at the Cenotaph.
Kindergarten 2024 Enrolment Interviews
Kindergarten 2024 enrolment interviews are taking place this week. It is a wonderful time for us to prepare to welcome new children and families to our school. If you know of anyone wanting to enrol for Kindergarten in 2024 and they haven’t yet done so, please remind them that applications need to be sent to the office as soon as possible.
First Holy Communion
The first session for First Holy Communion preparation is to take place this Monday evening at 6.30pm in the Church Meeting Room. Further details can be found in this newsletter. We pray for all students and their families preparing for this sacrament.
Mother’s Day Stall
Our school Parents and Friends Committee are holding our annual Mother’s Day Stall on Friday May 12th in the school hall. All gifts will cost $5 and this money will need to be brought to school on the day. Our teachers will take the students to the hall where they can make their selections. We know the students absolutely love carefully selecting gifts for their mothers and carers and we thank the P&F for their support in organising this opportunity for our children and of course our lovely mums and carers.

PB4L Focus - Flag raising
Our current fortnightly focus is how students can be safe, respectful and responsible when attending whole school flag raising on Monday afternoons. Teachers have taken the time to explicitly revise the expectations students are to follow when present at flag raising, specifically how to properly line up, and to ensure they are participating and listening to the teacher/s or student/s speaking. It is important that students actively participate when praying our School Prayer, and singing our National Anthem.
It will cover:
- when gaming can be beneficial and strategies to promote better in-game experiences

- strategies to promote more balanced gaming and how to create smoother transitions from game-play to other activities
- the key online risks and where to find help for things like bullying and harassment in games
- Getting the most out of gaming
