Last Sunday’s Gospel…
Jesus was in the temple and pointed out to His disciples the very great sacrifice made by a widow who put two small coins in the collection. It makes us ask ourselves how attached we are to earthly treasures and how well do we use our own resources to help others who are less fortunate than we are.
From the Principal...
Firstly, a very big thank you to you all! The picking up of your children at both gates is going well and you have adjusted very well to the further changes at the front entrance with the traffic officers looking after that entry and exit due to the presbytery demolition. I appreciate your patience and understanding. The latest on the demolition is that all asbestos removal should be completed by today and then the rest of the demolition will continue with, weather permitting, completion in the middle of next week. Then the front car park will be back to normal.
A number of parents have let me know about separating their child from another for various reasons and all these have been accommodated. Thank you for being prompt with that. Classes will be finalized this Friday so if you have forgotten, please send me your request in writing by this Friday. After that, it will be too late to change classes because all has to be entered into the central system for class roll over.
Teachers are preparing to write reports. We have received the report for this semester which is a modified version due to remote learning and of course complying with NESA requirements. It is a semester report so will cover the remote learning period as well as the face to face weeks we have had since. Families have all been in very different circumstances during the remote learning time and participation by students during that time has been very varied, at times through necessity. You will see some detail for Religion, English and Mathematics across all reports. In addition, in the general comment, teachers will be able to individualise the reports to a greater degree and acknowledge the tremendous effort many of the students went to (as did you!), during both the remote learning period, and the onsite learning.
We have the final P&F Meeting for the year on Friday. Please join us if you can. We have seen some new faces this year and it is always very helpful to have multiple points of view on various topics.
God Bless,
Michelle Rolfe

Over the fortnight teachers have continued their explicit teaching of new procedures with playground and classroom expectations. Last week 6White students visited each of the classrooms and distributed stickers for students and children of parents who completed the House Colour survey in Term 3. We are looking forward to implementing the house point reward system in the coming weeks. Some classes have begun using house points in their classrooms.

CEDoW Parent/Carer School Choice Survey
Dear Parent/Carer
Congratulations on enrolling your child in a Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong school. We are thrilled to welcome your family to our community of schools.
To ensure we continue to provide the best quality education and enrolment experience for all families, we are seeking to better understand the key reasons you chose a Catholic education for your child, and inviting your feedback on the enrolment process.
To assist us in this, we would greatly appreciate it if you are able to spare 10 minutes to complete this short survey by 5pm Wednesday 17 November 2021.
All responses will be kept strictly confidential and will not be associated with you or your child in any way.
Thank you for choosing a Catholic education for your child. We look forward to welcoming you and your family to our community of schools in 2022.
2022 School Travel Applications Now Open
Applications for student travel in 2022 are now open. From October 2021, information on the School Student Transport Scheme and the School Portal will be available via Transport for NSW.
Students who need a School Opal card or travel pass for 2022 can apply now. Parents/students will need to submit a new application if they are applying for a school travel pass for the first time, or if they are requesting an additional travel entitlement as a result of a new shared parental responsibility situation.
Students who change address, school, campus location, or who have repeated a year or received an expiry notification from Transport for NSW for their school travel entitlement should renew or update their details before the end of term 4. This will ensure that schools can endorse applications and current entitlements are updated and remain valid. School Opal cardholders will have the changes applied to their existing card.
Students who have an entitlement approved under a medical condition that is due to expire will receive a notification advising them to re-apply.
Term Bus Pass holders will also receive a notification to re-apply.
Students in the Opal network applying for an Opal card (including a Term Bus Pass) for the first time will receive their Student Opal card at their nominated postal address. Cards will be mailed out from January 2022.
Students living in rural and regional areas should receive their travel pass at the start of the new school year from their nominated transport operator.
