Last Sunday’s Gospel...
We heard more about St John the Baptist and the preparation he did in order to get the people ready for the coming of Jesus. He was very clear in his purpose and his stories are used during this time of Advent to help us get ready for the birth of that baby who would change the world.
Did you know...
The pink candle, lit last Sunday on the advent wreath, reminds us that this time of preparation for Christmas is a time of joy. It reminds us to have a break from the rigors of preparation, both spiritually and practically.
From the Principal...
The students met their teachers and classes for 2021 yesterday. I am pleased to be able to say our staffing is now finalised for 2021. Miss Alana Stroligo has accepted the permanent position of Middle Leader 2 created by Mr Bell leaving us. She has leadership experience at her current school and will bring those skills with her next year. This then created another position which Miss Jacinta Vella is taking for us for next year. Miss Vella is well known to us, teaching in various positions over the last couple of years at Holy Family while she completed her further studies and thesis. We are very lucky to have two such highly skilled teachers joining our team next year. For your information, staffing is as follows.
Kindergarten Miss Maryanne Bulfon, Mrs Kerry Wolf
Year 1 Mrs Rebecca Roberts, Miss Sarah Florio
Year 2 Mrs Jenny Peters, Mrs Rebecca Maxfield
Year 3 Mr Wayne Rice (M-Th) & Mrs Michelle Cooke (Fri),
Mrs Maria Mangahas (M-W) & Mrs Laa-Sin Thorn (W-F)
Year 4 Mrs Jo Williamson, Mr Simon Leibrandt
Year 5 Mrs Sarina Mignacca-Guzman, Miss Jacinta Vella
Year 6 Mrs Deanna David (REC), Miss Alana Stroligo (ML2)
Diverse Learning Needs Teacher: Mrs Veronica Baker (ML2)
Executive Relief Teacher: Mr Harrison Yates (T1&2), Mrs Holly McIntosh (T3&4)
PPT Release Teachers: Mr Michael Hyland , Miss Dianne Winarczyk, Miss Margaret Hogan
We wish Mr Bell a wonderful time in the country at Cootamundra and thank him for 18 years of happy service to our school. We also thank Mrs Patricia Coffey who is having a change by going to OLHC Rosemeadow for 2021 and wish her all the best on her new adventure. Mrs Shonine Delivera also leaves us after years of service to our students and we hope her new journey is also fruitful and full of happy times. Mrs Avril Moore and Miss Danica Duval have been wonderful filling positions for us while we have had teachers on leave so we wish them all the very best too for 2021. We also farewell students and families moving away. We hope your new homes and schools will be nourishing places where you make lots of new friends. To our Year 6 students, the great adventure of high school awaits. For some, it is also the youngest child leaving primary school and for those families I say a special thank you for all the years you have put in to Holy Family to make it the school it is today. Those of us here now enjoy all the work you put in to the school over many years – thank you. And to all of you who are moving on, remember you will always be part of Holy Family and you are most welcome to come back and visit. God bless you all.
I take this opportunity to thank you all personally. It has been a year of tremendous change – some you were no doubt expecting with the arrival of a new principal, but so much has had to change apart from that. I deeply appreciate your acceptance of the changes and that you have managed to maintain the warm and friendly spirit of Holy Family despite everything. I hope you all have a beautiful Christmas where the Holy Family join you and your family to create beautiful memories. Have a wonderful holiday, keep safe and I look forward to seeing you all back in 2021 and for the opportunity to get to know you all better.
God Bless
