Last Sunday’s Gospel...
Jesus tells us very clearly that He will be sending someone else to us when He goes to heaven. This is the promise of the Holy Spirit, who remains the presence of God in the world to this very day.
Did you know...
Mary, Help of Christians, is the patron saint of Australia. The feast day is 24th May. This declaration was made during the times of early colonial settlement. The Church could see that our country needed the special help of Our Lady and so put Australia under her patronage.
From the Principal...
School has been very different again with students all having the chance to be with their own classroom teacher once more. This has been wonderful for all of us! It has meant an increase in the workload of teachers because they have students at school as well as the remote learners but they are rising to the challenge very well. I commend our amazing staff and students for the way they have been able to adapt to changes – sometimes we have had to make them on a daily basis dependent on numbers. Everyone is being very flexible and accommodating.
I noticed a big improvement in punctuality and uniform standards on Monday morning. So thank you for responding so quickly to my request for your support in that area. The improvement was remarkable.
After many years of faithful service, Mrs Bolomey will no longer be running our school canteen. We are very grateful for all the hard work she put in over many years. We have begun the process to out source our school canteen to an external provider. We are planning for it to be open every day and that there will be an online order option for you, as well as a yummy menu. It will not be open in any case until after all our restrictions are lifted. I will keep you posted on when we think it will reopen and provide you with all the details of the service once the tender process is complete.
As you come back to school you will notice the new signs courtesy of the P & F and a start to the gardens. That will keep going once the painting is complete. I hope you will agree that the renovation of the covered walkways has improved the look of the school. I am grateful that Mr Moroney organised some funding from CEDoW last year for the project so we could get it all done at once rather than in two stages.
I am looking forward to seeing you all soon!
God Bless,
Michelle Rolfe

Brother Clarence Cunningham Foundation for Education
Brother Clarence Cunningham FMS, AM, MEd
Since November 1991 The Brother Clarence Foundation for Education has distributed over $111,000 to more than 275 families in the Macarthur area. Each year one of our families has been fortunate to have benefited from this generosity.
An outstanding feature of Brother Clarence's life as a teacher was the number and variety of places he had been Principal. He was first appointed Principal in 1950 at the age of 26, when, for three years, he led the secondary school at Bondi Junction. In 1953 (and continuing to 1956) he was the founding Principal of the school at Ayr in northern Queensland. This was followed by principalships at Villa Maria, Hunters Hill (1958-59), Kieta in Papua-New Guinea (1960-65), Maitland (1967-71), Honiara in the Solomon Islands (1972), following which he came to the Macarthur area. Br Clarence Cunningham, a Marist brother, had been the Principal of St Gregory’s College, John Therry Catholic High School and Mount Carmel Catholic College.
In 1990, Brother Clarence was honoured with the Order of Australia (AM) in recognition of his services to religion and education. Brother Clarence sadly passed away on 18 August 2011.
