Last Sunday’s Gospel...
Jesus used the metaphor again of the shepherd and the sheep. He likened himself to the gatekeeper of the fold. If we go through Him, He will protect us. Anyone else who tries to get us away from Him is not there for our welfare.
Did you know...
In Jesus’ time, sheep were domesticated. There were small flocks who responded to the shepherd’s voice and he knew each sheep individually, almost like a large family. At night, they sheltered in common folds for protection but in the morning, each shepherd called his own sheep who responded and followed him. No-one ever got mixed up.
From the Principal...
Welcome back to another term that is very different to what we have known in the past! Remote learning is in full swing and the teachers, in partnership with you amazing parents are combining to give our students an educational experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
As you know, we are preparing for a transition back to ‘normal’ school life. I sent a detailed letter out about that last Friday (repeated in this newsletter). If you have any questions about the gradual return to school, please don’t hesitate to contact us. I salute the teachers for the enormous amount of work they are doing as every new challenge is overcome. We will still be being strict with our cleaning and social distancing to keep everyone safe. When dropping your children to school, please do so at the gates. We are looking forward to having the students coming back, there is nothing so quiet as an empty school!
With Mother’s Day coming up, I hope you will be able to get together in a small way over the weekend to visit extended family and pay tribute to our Mums. Covid 19 has presented them with many extra challenges so take the time to give them a special day. Please take care on the roads if you are travelling.
God Bless,
Michelle Rolfe
Principal
A reminder to students regarding the Principal's Challenge and to keep sending in your photos of something you have done for Mum. Here are a few from this week.
Last Friday the Staff of Holy Family School produced a video and sent it out to to all the students and families. Here is the link, enjoy!!
