Welcome Back
Welcome back to the final term of 2024. Our students have returned from their holidays refreshed and ready to take on all of the wonderful faith and learning opportunities that our staff have planned. We look forward to another wonderful term ahead. Please remember to keep checking the term overview - if you have misplaced your copy, please ask at the office for another one. Almost everything that is happening this term is on there, minus a few things that may be added or changed.
School Uniforms - Thank you!
Thank you for your support with uniforms. We have noticed a huge improvement in our students wearing the correct uniforms since the commencement of Term 4.
Christmas Art Exhibition and Competition
Last Wednesday evening I was fortunate enough to attend the Catholic Education Office Diocese of Wollongong Christmas Art Exhibition and Competition opening night at Wollongong Art Gallery. Summer N from Year 6 was short listed and on the evening she was presented with a Highly Commended award for her artwork, titled, “Solution of Life” by the Director of Schools, Mr Peter Hill. We are really proud of Summer and congratulate her on this achievement!

Holy Family's Budding Authors Now Published on Apple Books!
We are thrilled to announce that six of our talented Year 5 students from Holy Family Catholic Primary School, Ingleburn, have become published authors! These incredible stories were created last year, during their time in Year 4, as part of their digital art and narrative writing units. The picture books they produced are now available on Apple Books for everyone to enjoy.
A big congratulations to our published authors:
- Shuya H
- Abigail E
- Alexandria B
- Motisha N
- Pyper W
- Samuel L
- Sarah L
These creative works were voted by their peers as standout stories and illustrations and represent the culmination of all their hard work in Year 4. Each book is entirely student-made, from the imaginative stories to the illustrations, sound effects and editing.
We encourage parents and the wider school community to download and read these fantastic picture books. A special thank you to the Diocese of Wollongong for their support in bringing this project to life.
Let’s celebrate our young authors! Click the link below to view their books on Apple Books and share in their creativity.

Staff Spotlight
As you know, we are blessed with wonderful educators here at Holy Family. Yesterday, a Spotlight on Technology was held at the Campbelltown Catholic Club with over 200 attendees. Spotlight24 was an event that showcased innovative teaching and learning in classrooms across the Diocese of Wollongong. Mr Borg was invited to present at the event and received positive feedback on his presentation entitled, “Using AI for student writing feedback”.
2025 Classes
As we begin to approach the end of the 2024 school year, our teachers will soon be creating classes for 2025 that will support every student. They are considering various factors to create balanced and diverse learning environments that foster growth in faith and learning, collaboration and wellbeing.
We understand that some parents may have concerns about their child being placed with certain classmates. While we value your input and want to make sure your child has a positive school experience, we kindly ask for your understanding in our class placement process.
A Few Points to Keep in Mind:
- Balanced Classrooms: Teachers aim to build well-rounded classes that consider academic abilities, social dynamics, and individual needs. These balanced environments help promote effective learning for all students.
- Social Development: Learning how to work with a variety of peers is an important part of your child's social and emotional growth. Sometimes, being with different classmates can offer opportunities for building resilience and developing new friendships.
- Teacher Expertise: Our experienced teachers have deep insights into the needs of each student. They are committed to placing your child in an environment that supports their academic and personal development.
Requests for Class Placements:
We understand that sometimes parents may request specific arrangements regarding classmates. While we do take these into account, please be aware that we cannot guarantee that all requests will be met. Our priority is to ensure that all students benefit from a classroom that best meets their learning needs.
If you have specific concerns, please reach out to me before November 15 to discuss your child’s situation. We will do our best to accommodate reasonable requests, but we ask for your flexibility in trusting our teachers' judgement as logistically, not all requests can be met.
Thank you for your support, trust and cooperation.
World Teachers’ Day
As you are aware, we celebrate World Teachers’ Day in Australia, today. I’d like to take this opportunity to take a moment to recognise the incredible impact that our educators, both teachers and support staff, have on the lives of students, families and our community. Their dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to shaping young minds inspire us all.
Teaching, especially in a Catholic School, is not just a profession—it’s much more than that. Each day, our educators bring creativity, patience, and a deep sense of care into their classrooms, guiding students through challenges, encouraging their curiosity, and helping them grow into confident, thoughtful individuals. The positive influence they have on our students reaches far beyond the walls of classrooms; they shape the future for generations to come.
On this special day, I want to say thank you. Thank you to our educators for their hard work, resilience, and for making a difference in the lives of our students every single day. The world is a better place because of the passion and commitment our staff bring to Holy Family.
Parish Fair
As you are aware, tomorrow is our Parish Fair. Members of the Holy Family Church have worked tirelessly over the last few months to ensure that our first Parish Fair brings us all together to celebrate our community.
Our school is organising a Second Hand Book Stall and Art Gallery, with all proceeds going back to our Parish. Each student has worked hard at creating a piece of art that has been hung in our gallery (also known as the school hall), these artworks can be purchased for a gold coin donation.
Thank you to those of you who have donated pre-loved books. They will be sold by our student leaders on the day, so please come along and say hello! I’ll see you all there!
In all things at Holy Family, Give Thanks.

Belonging in a Connected Community
Belonging in a connected community is important to us at Holy Family. We work hard to live out our vision to be a welcoming Catholic school community that endeavours to bear Christ to all. We aim to do this through the many opportunities for faith formation, high quality teaching and learning and robust PB4L (positive behaviours for learning) structures that are built on positive relationships and underpinned by Catholic Social Teaching. Our wonderful community celebrations involving our parents and carers, as well as our school’s Parents and Friends all help connect us as a community.
In addition to this, we know that many of our students participate in a number of extra curricular activities outside of school and we would like to celebrate some of these great achievements! These could include achievements in their Parish, music, sport, dance, drama, community service and community awards, to name a few.
If your child has recently achieved something in an outside school area, please let us know! Details can be sent to info_holyfamily@dow.catholic.edu.au with the email subject ‘Belonging in a Connected Community’. We can then showcase their achievement in this section of our newsletter.
Please find attached some resources, provided by CatholicCare, that you may find useful.
Warm regards,
Sarah
