Reflection
In this week’s Gospel, Jesus asks His friends a very important question: "Who do you say I am?" It's a question that invites us to think about who Jesus is to each of us. For young children, this can mean thinking about Jesus as a friend, a helper, and someone who loves them very much.
Jesus teaches that following Him means being kind, helping others, and sometimes doing things that are hard, just like carrying a cross. It means putting others first and showing love in our actions, even when it’s not easy. In a school setting, this could look like sharing with classmates, being a good listener, or including someone who feels left out.
Please encourage your children to think about how they can follow Jesus by being kind and loving, just like Him. Let’s all ask ourselves: "How can I show Jesus' love to my friends and family today?"
This passage reminds us that every day is a chance to choose to be like Jesus, carrying our little "crosses" by being patient, forgiving, and loving in all we do.
New School Rules Signage
You may have noticed our new school rules signs around the school. Last year, we consulted with our students and tweaked our school rules slightly. The school rules now are:
- Be Safe
- Be Respectful
- Be a Responsible Learner
We also created mascots for each rule, and before our previous Principal, Mrs Rolfe left us last year, she designed meaningful mascots to go with each rule.
The Pardalote bird goes with being safe, and has its connection with the side street next to our school, Pardalote Street. The Koala goes with being respectful, and has its connection with Koala Park which we use everyday. The Blue Tongue Lizard goes with being a responsible learner, and has its connection with our beautiful blue tongue lizards that love living in our amazing gardens everyday.
We have also created student stickers to go with each rule and you may see some of them come home with your children when we notice them abiding by the school rules!
CPS Netball Day
Last Tuesday, we sent two fabulous netball teams to compete in the CPS Netball Carnival in Penrith. The teams competed really well and we thank Miss Hay and Mrs Maxfield for their efforts in training the teams and to Miss Hay and Sarah for their efforts on the day.

Father’s Day Celebrations
We had a wonderful Father’s Day celebration two weeks ago where our wonderful P&F members cooked a BBQ breakfast for our fathers. We then celebrated a prayerful liturgy and open classrooms which the children really enjoyed having so many parents and carers attend. We really felt like a Holy Family on that day! Thank you to everyone who helped make the day possible and who came to be part of it all.
In all things at Holy Family, Give Thanks.

Belonging in a Connected Community
Belonging in a connected community is very important to us at Holy Family. We work hard to live out our vision to be a welcoming Catholic school community that endeavours to bear Christ to all. We aim to do this through the many opportunities for faith formation, high quality teaching and learning and robust PB4L (positive behaviours for learning) structures that are built on positive relationships and underpinned by Catholic Social Teaching. Our wonderful community celebrations involving our parents and carers, as well as our school’s Parents and Friends all help connect us as a community.
In addition to this, we know that many of our students participate in a number of extra curricular activities outside of school and we would like to celebrate some of these great achievements! These could include achievements in their Parish, music, sport, dance, drama, community service and community awards, to name a few. If your child has recently achieved something in an outside school area, please let us know! Details can be sent to info_holyfamily@dow.catholic.edu.au with the email subject ‘Belonging in a Connected Community’. We can then showcase their achievement in this section of our newsletter.
Victory in the Grand FinalA Testament of Perseverance, Hardwork & resilience. As the Team Captain, she showed sportsmanship, kindness and leadership as commended by her Coaches & Teammates.
Well done Audrey
