Last Week’s Gospel
In this Gospel, Jesus teaches us an important lesson about being His followers. Jesus wanted His disciples to understand that following Him meant more than just good times and miracles. It meant being ready to make sacrifices and being strong when times were tough. Jesus said, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me."
Now, what does it mean to take up our cross? It means that we should be ready to do what is right, even when it's hard. It means helping others, being kind, and standing up against things that are unfair or unkind. It also means following Jesus' teachings and being His true followers, no matter what challenges we face.
Taking up our cross is not always easy, but Jesus promises that those who do will find true life and happiness. He said, "For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it."
Book Week

Our Book Week Parade was a wonderful celebration, thanks to the enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication of our students, teachers, and families. The sight of our students parading in their favorite book characters' costumes was truly a joy!
I would like to extend a special thank-you to our fantastic staff members who inspire our students' love for reading through their genuine passion for books and stories throughout the year and for their efforts in preparing the students for their oral performances during the parade.
Parents and carers, your support and encouragement in helping your children choose and create their costumes were essential in making the parade such a delightful experience. The children all looked so happy!
To our incredible students, you were the stars of the parade!
Your enthusiasm and the effort you put into your costumes were remarkable.
We believe that fostering a love for reading from a young age is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children, and events like Book Week help make this possible. Together, we celebrated the magical world of books, where imagination knows no bounds.
We hope you enjoy some of the photographs taken on the day.

Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
September 8, is the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary — Mary’s birthday! God’s gift of His Son to humankind was preceded by another precious gift — the gift of the Mother of His Son.
Mary brought forth Jesus into the world. In this modern world, each and every follower of Jesus is also invited to “bring forth” Jesus into the world, in his or her life situation. Mary gave birth to Jesus once in history, but we can, in a way “bring forth” Jesus one hundred times a day! Whenever and wherever we stand for His values and are witnesses to His love and mercy, we “bring forth” Jesus. Also, by listening to God’s Word and acting accordingly, each of us can become the mother, brother or sister of Jesus (Mk 3:31-35).
Our Blessed Mother is the best intercessor with God. Here are some ways to celebrate the birth of Mary as a family:
-
Say the Rosary together
-
Pray a Novena to Our Lady each day
-
Flower a Mary statue - This is common during the Month of Mary (May). Place flowers around a statue of Mary.
-
Learn About a New Marian Devotion - Our Lady is the Mother of the Universal Church. There are many ways she has affected Christians in various times and places during these nearly 2,000 years since she walked the earth. It is fascinating to read the stories behind each one, and many are associated with miracles, apparitions, saints, and holy images. Will one of them touch you in a special way?
