PB4L Focus

House Colours
This week the PB4L committee will deliberate and a short list will be compiled then shared to you for your final vote. I was hoping to have the short list ready to go for this week's newsletter however we have been in contact with CEDow personnel regarding this matter as we were hoping to get input from the Aboriginal Education Officer.
Flourishing Friday
On Friday students will be taking part in Flourishing Friday. We hope you and your child/ren enjoy the day that the staff have planned. The day will be a great opportunity for the children to recharge themselves and put them in the right headspace for remote learning in Week 7. The slides will be shared with students in the coming days. Classroom teachers will organise a time for students to attend a Zoom meeting where they are able to catch up with their peers and classroom teacher/s on the day.
Social and Emotional Learning
Over the last few weeks staff have been adding various social and emotional activities that students can take part in whilst engaging in remote learning. These social and emotional activities help students understand their emotions, manage their emotions, maintain positive relationships and make responsible decisions.
Smiling Mind is a free app that parents and children can download on their iPad and select age appropriate mindful and meditation programs. Some of the strategies presented are Confronting your fears, let it go, feather breathing mindful hugs and gratitude before bed.
Wonder Bread Competition
Throughout Term 2 students, families and staff were hard at work collecting bread bags and bread tags. We are proud to announce that the final weigh in of bread bags was 20kg. This allowed the school to order some new playground equipment for students to use when remote learning ends.
I would like to thank all of you for your extra support during this time.
Regards,
Alana Stroligo
