Principal's Message
Last Sunday’s Gospel…
Last Sunday we celebrated the Feast of the Assumption. This very important Feast – of equal importance to a Sunday Mass because it is a Holy Day of Obligation, commemorates the doctrine that Mary, having carried Jesus in her womb, was so pure that she was taken to heaven body and soul. This highlights her importance to our Faith. We are in particular need of her care right now so remember to ask her to accompany us.
From the Principal...
We continue our remote learning journey with Fr Peter watching over us. I thank you for your understanding and support of staff attending his funeral online last week.
To give us a bit of a break from the rigour of our learning schedule, we have declared this Friday to be Flourishing Friday. A very extensive range of activities have been prepared, all aimed at reducing stress for students and their hardworking teachers and parents! Hopefully it is a life giving day for everyone! We ask that the student complete nine tasks and colour in a little picture to mark this. Some are very short so we want to keep the students busy for you. Please don’t worry if they don’t get nine done! We hope it gives you all a happy day.
On Friday, Mrs Smith and I will be joining the P&F for a bit of a different meeting and we hope you will join us. It’s have a cuppa time. We thought it would be timely to be available for a chat with everyone and answer any questions or listen to any suggestions you may have rather than hold the formal P&F meeting. It will be nice to see your faces again so please grab a cuppa or a drink and join us if you can! We can say hi to your children as well.
As you will be aware Book Week is coming up. There’s also Father’s Day and some other different themes happening with learning. We are doing these things to try to keep the students interested. Please don’t feel under pressure if you can’t do all of the activities asked all the time. Just do what you can!
Remember that if you are an authorized worker and have to bring your children to school to drop them at either gate in the morning but only pick up from Koala Park in the afternoons. And no parent is allowed on school grounds at all at the moment except for in the office. I realise this is different to last time but with the extra contagious nature of this strain of Covid, we have to put some different safety measures in place. We are just trying to keep everyone who must come to school - staff and students, safe. I thank you for your support with this so far.
Please take care of yourselves and those you love and keep in touch.
God Bless
Michelle Rolfe
