National Sorry Day
Today, Holy Family participated in National Sorry Day celebrations. National Sorry Day, is an annual event that has been held in Australia on 26 May since 1998. It also marks the beginning of National Reconciliation Week.
As a school we reflected and acknowledged the Stolen Generation and celebrated a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
All classes participated in a reflection and prayer and students had the opportunity to engage in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander activities at lunch time. Students enjoyed painting Aborignal symbols on rocks and scratch paper.
